Operations

What it means to be your India office.

Four control surfaces. One operating cadence. A weekly rhythm that turns India sourcing from a thing you worry about into a thing you can plan around.

01 · The premise

Most importers don't need another supplier. They need someone in India whose only job is to make sure their money, their time, and their shipments aren't quietly leaking. That's the job we do.

We work the way an internal sourcing office would, if you were going to set one up — but without the entity, the headcount, the visa overhead, or the multi-year ramp. Pricing stays clean. Compliance stays current. Shipments leave when they're supposed to leave.

02 · Four control surfaces

The four places we hold the line.

A · Cost

Vendor & cost control

Quote benchmarking against current input prices. Costed bills of materials so every line is defensible. Pre-PO scrutiny that catches drift before it becomes a year of margin loss.

Where it matters: re-orders on programme business where last year's quote silently moved up.

B · Quality

Production & quality control

Pre-production sample sign-off. In-line inspection at the cutting and stitching stage. Final random inspection before container loading. Failures escalate in writing the same day.

Where it matters: the silent substitutions — yarn count, GSM, finish — that pass paper inspection but show up at the retailer floor.

C · Compliance

Compliance & testing

Walmart and Costco programme requirements maintained continuously, not at audit time. Social compliance coordination — Sedex, SMETA, BSCI. Lab liaison for SGS, Bureau Veritas, and Intertek.

Where it matters: keeping you on the programme when a factory's audit lapses or a test fails on re-submission.

D · Shipment

Shipment & documentation

Senior-level approval before any release. Document accuracy at the source — invoice, packing list, certificates, BL — checked before they leave the factory's office. Forwarder coordination with full visibility.

Where it matters: the demurrage and detention bills that should never have been written.

03 · Compliance, in depth

The programmes we operate against.

Walmart programmes

Walmart's Responsible Sourcing requirements, factory capability assessments, and the production-process discipline programme business requires. We treat these as ongoing obligations, not paperwork to scramble for at audit time.

Costco programmes

Costco's supplier compliance framework, including factory disclosure, product testing, and the quality consistency Costco buyers expect across re-orders. Town & Country Holdings is a reference point for this work.

Social compliance

Sedex membership and SMETA audit cycles. BSCI where required. We manage the calendar so audits don't lapse and findings are closed within their corrective-action windows.

Product testing

Direct liaison with SGS, Bureau Veritas, and Intertek labs. Test plans built per programme spec. Failures isolated, root-caused at the factory, and re-tested — not papered over.

04 · The cadence

What you get every week.

  • REPORT

    Pre-production reports

Sample sign-off status, raw material readiness, production schedule confirmation per PO.

  • REPORT

    In-line inspection summaries

Defect rates by line, stage, and SKU. Photo evidence of issues. Corrective actions logged and tracked to closure.

  • DASHBOARD

    Shipment dashboards

Every PO, every line item, every milestone. From sample to FCL on board. No more "let me check with the factory."

  • ESCALATION

    Exception escalations

In writing, the same day. With a recommended action and an owner. Not "FYI" — a request for your decision.

05 · Honest limits

What we deliberately don't do.

A short list of the things you won't see in any of our proposals — because saying yes to them would compromise the work we're actually here to do.

  • 01 We don't take title to your goods. The relationship is between you and the factory; we make sure it works.
  • 02 We don't mark up factory invoices or take quiet commissions. Our fee is what's on our agreement, full stop.
  • 03 We don't replace suppliers you trust. If a vendor relationship is working, we keep it and strengthen it.
  • 04 We don't run services we think you should run yourselves — design ownership, brand decisions, customer relationships.
