A founding story, briefly told.
Tradewinds Services was founded in 1998 in New Delhi, in the early years of India's emergence as a serious global supplier of home furnishings. The brief was simple then and is simple now: be the layer between an international buyer and an Indian factory that makes both sides successful.
What started as a small home furnishings buying house has, over twenty-seven years, become an India operations practice. The shift from "buying" to "operations" is intentional. Our work today is less about finding suppliers — most importers can do that themselves — and more about making the supply base they already have actually deliver, reliably, programme after programme.
We have served buyers across the United States and the United Kingdom. The longest of those relationships have outlasted multiple sourcing leads, multiple economic cycles, and multiple shifts in trade policy. Continuity is the product.

Proprietor & Principal
Dicky founded Tradewinds Services in 1998 and has run it as principal ever since. He is the person you will speak with on the first call, and the person who will sign off on the senior approval before any of your shipments leave India.
His operating philosophy has remained constant for nearly three decades. It comes through clearly in conversation, but he summarises it in one line:
Buying is the easy part. Making sure what was bought actually ships on time, at the right price, to the right spec — that is the job.
